South Carolina snapped its two-game losing streak after defeating Florida International 84-72. South Carolina snapped its two-game losing streak after defeating Florida International 84-72.

COLUMBIA, SC (RNN) - South Carolina snapped both its two-game losing streak and Florida International's six-game winning streak after the Gamecocks defeated the Panthers 84-72 on Sunday.

South Carolina (2-2) was down by three at the half but came back to outscore FIU (6-3) 45-30 in the second. The Gamecocks led the Panthers in both field goals and 3-pointers, but FIU led in free throws, making 18 of its 21 free throws compared to South Carolina's 16 of 21 attempts.

Tyrone Johnson led the Gamecocks with 18 points and seven assists.

South Carolina gets a week off before hitting the road again, playing at No. 7 Oklahoma State on Friday, Dec. 6 as part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge.
