OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (WRCB) -- East Hamilton holds up "their end of the bargain" in cross town rivalry with Ooltewah. The Hurricanes used a final minute score to beat the Owls for the first time in three years, 26-19.

"It was great for our kids. Anytime you play a neighborhood rivalry game you want to uphold your end of the bargain and we haven't up until this point," said East Hamilton Head Coach Ted Gatewood.

Tied at 19 with 29 seconds to play East Hamilton quarterback Hunter Moore rolled right from just across midfield, he threw across his body to Matt Milita and Milita slipped around one tackle and sprinted into the end zone for the game winner.

Gatewood said, "both teams showed great resiliency. Our kids haven't given up on adversity all year. We've been in every game. Tonight we finished it off. Great effort by Matt on that run and a great throw from Hunter."

Ooltewah took momentum late in the third quarter and didn't give it back until the final East Hamilton drive.

Down 10 the Owls ran a halfback pass from Edward Hayes to Hayden Bradley to pull within three.

East Hamilton fumbled on the ensuing possession and Rashaun Freeman put Ooltewah up 19-16 with an 11-yard rushing touchdown.

The teams exchanged punts until Milita's game winner with 29 seconds to play.

East Hamilton advances to the Class 5A Quarterfinals and will host Cleveland next Friday. The Blue Raiders beat Rhea County, 31-7.
