Pedestrian, driver identified in fatal crash in Lebanon
LEBANON, TN (WSMV) -
A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a vehicle in Lebanon Thursday evening.
The crash was reported around 8 p.m. at 900 Carthage Highway near Sparta Pike.
Police say 59-year-old Cindy Ballington of Lebanon was hit by a vehicle and killed.
The driver of the vehicle has been identified by police as 33-year-old Pamela Delay of Lebanon.
Police say Delay was driving eastbound in a 2012 Dodge Journey when she hit what she thought was a mailbox. Delay allegedly continued to her home, which is down the road from the crash, and called to report it.
According to officers, they believe that Ballington walked out into the roadway and that Delay did not see her.
Officials say they do not expect charges to be filed at this time.
