Good Thursday. It's even colder this morning, but with calm winds it should be a little more tolerable than yesterday morning.
Now let's talk high pressure. In a nutshell, air moves clockwise around a center of high pressure. If the high is to you west, it will deliver north winds and cold air. If it is to your east, the winds will be from the south, giving you warm air
High pressure to our east is shooting in the cold air from the north this morning, but that same high will drift eastward and be east of the area this afternoon. That means the southerly flow, and warmer air.
The bottom line, while we are colder than we were yesterday morning, our highs this afternoon will be in the mid to upper 50s, about 10 degrees warmer than Wednesday afternoon.
Friday into the weekend, we will have a couple of weak impulses that will move through, giving us some clouds and a few scattered showers.
For Friday, look for mostly cloudy skies and a few afternoon showers. The high will be in the upper 50s.
Saturday will be cloudy, but the rain chance is only about 20%. It will be even warmer with highs in the upper 60s.
Another front moves through Sunday, bringing scattered showers throughout the day, and into Sunday night. Still we should manage a high in the upper 60s Sunday, as well.
