Crime Stoppers: Car Burglary Suspect on ATM Camera

Posted: Updated:

In this week's Crime Stoppers case, it looks as though the suspects have provided their own lead in a case where there were no witnesses and few clues. They just were not thinking. Every ATM has a camera. That means great pictures for you. Have a look, identify this guy, and earn reward cash.

"This week, while a very nice lady was at work, she was the victim of a car burglary," Chattanooga Police Sergeant Craig Joel began. The bad guys took out her window and removed her belongings. Investigators had no leads on this crime nor on a run of vehicle burglaries in the Brainerd and Hixson areas until...

While attempting to use the stolen booty, at least one suspect gave police, and now you, a good look at his face.

Police say the suspects rolled over to the First Volunteer Bank in Hixson and tried to use a debit card, one they had snatched in one of the car burglaries. That ATM has a very good camera which produces very clear pictures, especially when the subject is less than two feet away.

The driver appears to be a heavy-set black man with sculpted facial hair. He is possibly in his 30's. The video also shows what he was driving, as well: a gray or silver colored SUV.

If you know our suspect, it should be an open and shut case; one that could lead to reward cash for you. He will never know you turned him in, neither will your friends, your enemies, nor police. "If you have information," said Sgt. Joel, "if you recognize these men or just this vehicle and you can put two and two together, call Crime Stoppers.

It is that easy. Up to a thousand dollars is waiting for your good tip. Call now: 698-3333.

An officer may answer the phone or return your call, but he will never ask your identity.
