Posted: Updated:

One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash Tuesday evening in Lebanon.

The crash was reported around 7:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Rocky Road, just south of West Main Street.

Police say 28-year-old James C. Austin of Lebanon lost control of his pickup truck and flipped into a power pole.

Austin was thrown from the truck and was found dead at the scene. Police say he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Police say speed and alcohol may have played a role, and the investigation into the crash continues.

The crash knocked out power to a handful of homes in the area.
