NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Traffic was moving slowly on northbound I-65 Tuesday morning after a fatal crash.

A navy blue F-350 ran off the side of the roadway just south of Harding Place at 6:20 a.m.

The truck hit a tree line and flipped, landing on the passenger side.

The driver, 30-year-old Barry Jenkins Jr. of Columbia, was pinned inside the cab and died at the scene. Officials say Jenkins was not wearing a seat belt.

Metro's fatal crash team says it's possible speed and slick conditions played a factor, but it is still unclear on what caused the driver to lose control.

Officials say there was no evidence of alcohol or drug involvement at the scene.

Just before the truck was towed off, a K-9 team was brought out. Police say the team was searching for one of the victim's personal belongings.
