1 Killed in Ashland City fire

ASHLAND CITY, TN (WSMV) -

One person is dead and another was hospitalized with serious burns after an early morning fire in Ashland City.

The fire started at about 2:30 a.m. at a home on Hill Road.

When firefighters arrived, the house was fully engulfed.

First responders struggled to enter the home because of a refrigerator that was blocking a door.

Crews found a body once they did make it inside.

There was no immediate word on how the fire started.

The survivor was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center.
