The suspect wanted in a Rossville shooting has surrendered to the Walker County Sheriff's Department.
Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson tells Channel 3 the shooting happened on South Washington Street. It's located in the Dewberry Community behind Hutcheson.
The victim is identified as 24-year-old Quinton Cox. He was in the front yard of his home when 42-year-old Lee Everrette Strawter, who lives across the street, fired 6 rounds with his .375.
Cox's wife and two stepchildren were in the home at the time of the shooting.
Cox was hit several times. He was taken to the hospital and immediately into surgery. One of the wounds is considered life threatening.
Sheriff Wilson says the incident started as an argument over a former girlfriend.
Strawter faces 4 counts of Aggravated Assault and one count of shooting at the victim.
