Leadership Explorations offers small, medium and large businesses leadership training to help frontline workers coach themselves to excellence and increase business effectiveness
FINKSBURG, Md., Nov. 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Leadership Explorations, a management leadership training program for frontline managers, today announced a training program to develop and improve the capabilities of millennial workers.
Leadership Explorations CEO Doug Mayblum developed the program based on the five practices of The Leadership Challenge®. The program combines best practices and Mayblum's own experiences rising through the ranks from call center operator to executive leadership at some of the world's leading financial institutions and Mayblum's life coaching skills developed through the iPEC Excellence in Coaching Training.
Millennials present particular challenges for employers, according to Mayblum. Although they will make up nearly half of the U.S. workforce by 2020, according to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates, research from the American Society of Training & Development found that Millennials entering the workforce represent an interesting paradox. Their technological skills and passion to be part of the solution present employers with an exciting advantage. However, many believe that Millennials are moving into management without sufficient preparation.
Investing in training can help organizations prepare its workforce for future challenges, attract and retain top talent and ensure its workforce has the skills to lead and innovate in the future. The workshop incorporates The Leadership Challenge® principles and allows individuals to experience leadership development training through a practical, hands-on approach, grow their leadership capabilities and bolster personal development.
The five Leadership Challenge principles include modeling standards of excellence, creating a shared vision, developing courage to challenge existing processes, empowering others and celebrating achievements. While the program is based on these fundamentals, Leadership Explorations differs from other training programs as the workshop is designed and delivered by a leader who has made mistakes and is able to impart key lessons learned to others through his experiences.
Mayblum said exposure to these lessons is valuable for millennial workers who may be working remotely or in different locations than their managers, making it difficult to learn from business leaders or increasing the need to be more culturally literate.
Leadership Explorations training methodology distinguishes the difference between managing versus leading, provides ongoing guidance to help leaders uncover their core competency opportunities. Providing both frontline and future leaders with the skills to grow personally and professionally results in higher productivity, job satisfaction, and retention while impacting the bottom line.
