CHA approves sale of Harriet Tubman homes

The Chattanooga Housing Authority has approved the sale of the Harriet Tubman site.

Lakewood Realty, a Chicago-based developer will purchase the former public housing site for $2.85 million.

They plan to convert the 36-acre property into 440 affordable housing units.

Councilman Yusuf Hakeem says the new project puts the community in a position to grow.
