McMinn County Assessor of Property Jerry Anderson was arrested on a Grand Jury indictment Tuesday.
He was charged on two counts of theft and one count of official misconduct.
The indictment claims that Anderson, on two different occasions, used the McMinn County Highway Department's gas to fill up his personal vehicle while not on county business.
The two theft counts are misdemeanors, while the misconduct count is a felony.
Anderson was released from the McMinn County Justice Center on a $10,000 bond.
