CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- Two of the areas top high school football recruits have declared their college destinations, and both happen to be heading to the Southern Conference.
East Hamilton tight end Bailey Lenoir gave his verbal commitment to the hometown Chattanooga Mocs over the weekend, per our media partners at the Chattanooga Times Free Press. Lenoir is the son of former Tennessee offensive lineman Patrick Lenoir.
The 6-foot-4, 245-pounder only has two receptions this year, but has long been a huge factor as a blocker in the Hurricanes' powerful ground game. The TFP reported Lenoir also had offers from Kennesaw State and Austin Peay.
Across town, another tight end, Baylor's Chandler Gouger, made his decision Monday night. The Red Raiders' senior announced via his Twitter page that he has verbally committed to play for Wofford.
Gouger (6-foot-4, 225-pounds) has grown into one of Nick Tiano's top targets this year in the Baylor passing game. He is the younger brother of Barrett Gouger, who is an offensive lineman at Vanderbilt.
