A 2-year-old girl who was found in a pool at a Phoenix home died early Monday morning.
"Unfortunately, the child passed away," Phoenix police Officer James Holmes said. "The investigation continues, but it appears to be a tragic accident.
Phoenix firefighters said the girl was found in the pool about 6:45 p.m. at a house near 63rd and Campbell avenues.
A Phoenix fire spokesman said the girl was missing for an undetermined amount of time and that there was no barrier around the pool.
She was taken to a Phoenix pediatric hospital.
