DAYTON, TN (WRCB) – The 7th Annual Madisonville Marine Skeeter/Yamaha Classic was held Saturday October 12, 2013 on Chickamauga Lake out of Dayton Boat Dock. Anglers in this event were greeted with bluebird skies and falling water conditions today as they fished for over $55,000 in cash and prizes. There were 138 teams that participated in the event.
The team of Caleb Eakens and Spencer Brown caught a five-bass limit weighing 19.15 pounds to win first place and a fully rigged Skeeter ZX190 powered by a Yamaha VZ150 valued at $36,900.
Eakens said, "We caught the six pounder flipping and the rest of our catch came throwing chatter bait around scattered grass."
Finishing in second was the team of Kevin Keith and Chris Coleman with a five bass limit weighing 18.45 pounds. They walked away with $3,500 for second place in the event.
"We had four or five areas that we planned on fishing throughout the day. All of the fish we weighed in came on our third stop of the morning on topwater baits around scattered grass." says Keith
The duo of Corey Miles and Brent Travis took first big-fish honors with a giant largemouth bass weighing 7.85 pounds and earned them $960.
Second big fish of the tournament went to the team of Jim Harris and Van Watson with a largemouth bass that weighed 6.40 pounds, which was good for $420
Rounding out the remaining top ten places:

3rd – Tom Evans and Felix Fugate with 18.00 lbs., $2,500
4th – Ryan Inklebarger and Roy Mower with 16.60 lbs., $2,000
5th – Cory Miles and Brent Travis with 15.95 lbs., $1,500
6th – Chris Coffey and Nick Pratt with 15.30 lbs., $1,200
7th – Rod Huff and Jerry Delk with 15.20 lbs., $900
8th – Roger Odell and Hugh Odell with 15.15 lbs., $800
9th – Kendall Beaty and Marion Tipton with 14.90 lbs., $750
10th – Chad Reel and Kevin Burnett with 14.70 lbs., $700
