Boyd-Buchanan sweeps CSAS to win 5-A tournament title
CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- Kristen Reynolds finished with 13 kills and dished out 14 assists to claim MVP honors and help Boyd-Buchanan clinch the District 5-A tournament title with a 3-0 sweep of visiting Arts & Sciences Wednesday night.
The Lady Bucs (27-13) claimed wins of 25-17, 25-20 and 25-23 to earn the district's top seed in next week's region tournament at Sale Creek.
Boyd-Buchanan scored the first six points of the match and eventually built a double-digit lead en route to an easy win in the opening set, but had to stave off Lady Patriot rallies over the next two. The Lady Bucs scored six of the final seven points to survive in the second set, then rallied from a seven-point deficit in the third set to clinch the title.
Brooke Mitchell's eight kills paced the CSAS offense.
