OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (WRCB) -- The seeds held at the District 5-AAA volleyball tournament this week at Ooltewah High School.
Top-seeded Ooltewah swept fourth-seeded Cleveland 3-0 in Tuesday night's semifinals to earn a showdown with second-seeded Soddy-Daisy in Wednesday night's final. The Lady Trojans (41-16) ousted East Hamilton 3-1 in the other semifinal.
Both teams will now also advance to next week's region tournament, while the season ends for Cleveland (22-23) and East Hamilton (25-17).
Courtney Ison's 16 kills led the Owls (39-10) to wins of 25-15, 25-21 and 25-23. Marissa Langford had 15 kills to lead Cleveland in a losing effort. Ooltewah has not lost a match this season in district play.
Lauren Smith and Abby Walker combined for 24 kills to pace Soddy-Daisy through scores of 25-21, 25-22, 15-25 and 25-23. The Lady Trojans have now won seven straight and 13 of their last 14 overall.
Emma Lenoir had 28 kills, 22 digs and 11 assists for the Lady Canes.

Ridgeland clinches state berth, Heritage tops Northwest again
DALTON, Ga. (WRCB) -- Ridgeland and River Ridge wrapped up Region 7-AAAA's final two playoff spots Tuesday night, but it's top-seeded Heritage who is in the driver's seat in region tournament play at Heritage Point Park.
The Generals blasted rival Northwest Whitfield 9-0 in five innings in the winner's bracket final to advance to Thursday night's championship game. Heritage has now swept all three meetings between the two state powers this season.
The second-ranked Generals jumped on the third-ranked Bruins with five runs in the first and added four more in the fifth. Katie Pritchett's walk-off three-run homer clinched the victory.
Northwest will not face River Ridge at 5 p.m. ET Thursday, with the winner advancing to play Heritage for the region's top overall seed in next week's state bracket.
River Ridge clinched its spot in the state tournament with an 8-0 win over Dalton earlier Tuesday, then stayed alive for a first-round home series by beating Ridgeland 6-5. Katelyn Brack's two-run single in the sixth proved to be the difference.
Ridgeland clinched a spot in the state tournament for the first time in five years with a 1-0 win over Cass earlier Tuesday. With the loss to River Ridge, the Panthers will be the region's No. 4 seed in the state tournament and travel to the Region 5-AAAA champion.
