KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee has received a $16 million pledge from a Texas couple to help fund construction and improvements for the school's athletic department.
The donation from Mike and Mickala Sisk of Colleyville, Texas, is part of the Campaign for Comprehensive Excellence that the school launched Saturday. School officials want the campaign to raise $154.2 million.
The Sisks are originally from Selmer, Tenn. They founded Low T Centers, which diagnose and treat men with low testosterone.
Tennessee wants the first phase of the campaign to fund construction of a plaza honoring former women's basketball coach Pat Summitt, the expansion of football practice fields, the additions of a volleyball practice facility and a broadcast studio plus renovations to the men's and women's basketball locker rooms, the indoor tennis center and the rowing boathouse.
