A student was hit by a van near Harpeth Valley Elementary School Friday morning.

Metro Schools says the 7-year-old child was not let out in the drop-off zone and was struck just before 8 a.m.

The child was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment of a foot injury.

The driver is not facing charges, according to police spokesman Don Aaron.
