Kidney Foundation Executive Director accused of mishandling funds
Channel 3 is learning more about the allegations against the local Kidney Foundation's Executive Director.
Jennifer McGlohon was relieved of her duties and placed on un-paid leave last month.
Board members now confirm McGlohon is under investigation for inappropriate use of organization funds.
Since the discovery, the organization's accountant has been conducting a forensic search of the group's finances.
The group will not say how much money is missing, only that the investigation continues.
The board's attorney, Jonathan Turner, is handing over the findings to the Hamilton County District Attorney's Office for further investigation.
Founder and board member Milli Yium told Channel 3 in an interview Wednesday that she wants donors to know the missing funds have not taken away from patient care.
She says caring for patients in the area remains the organization's top priority.
"I want those people to understand that we are good stewards of public funds and that we have moved very quickly to look at the investigation and to make sure that nothing is continuing to be misused," she said.
"We will continue to do a great job of taking care of renal patients in our community," Yium added.
Yium says the kidney foundation has an annual audit process, but is now working on having better internal controls.
Channel 3's calls to McGlohon and her attorney have gone unanswered.
