ELYRIA, OH (WOIO) -

An Elyria woman tells police a stranger punched her in the face when she answered her door.

It happened just after 6 p.m. on Monday on Lake Avenue.

The victim tells officers she heard a noise at her door, so she opened it.

A man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and jeans was standing there and punched her one time in the face with a closed fist and left.

The victim had a tooth knocked out, but tells police the punch was a "blessing in disguise" because it was supposed to be removed by a dentist.

The suspect remains on the loose.
