Rescued dogs soon available for adoption

More than 100 dogs, seized last week from terrible conditions at a home in Kentucky, will soon be available for adoption in Middle Tennessee.

Authorities found 122 dogs, four cats and two parrots at a home in Monticello. Many were in poor health and living in filthy conditions.

They've since been receiving care at a temporary shelter in Lebanon established by the Animal Rescue Corps. Meanwhile, their owner, Clara Preat, pleaded guilty Friday to animal cruelty, and agreed to surrender the pets.

Once the animals are healthy, they will be available for adoption through several agencies, including New Leash on Life, Chicago French Bulldog Rescue, AGAPE Animal Rescue and Small Breed Rescue of East Tennessee.
