UPDATE: A man arrested for burglarizing a house, then wrecking his vehicle as fleeing the scene has been tied to at least two other burglaries and a shooting in McMinn County.

Thirty-nine-year-old Travis Odell may now be facing federal prosecution.

Odell was arrested Friday night after allegedly burglarizing a home on County Road 298 and pulling a gun on the victim.

As he drove away, he apparently lost control of his van and wrecked.  Odell has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, among several other charges.

He is being held on $43,000 bond.

McMinn County deputies responded to a shooting on County Road 312 Thursday morning.

Sheriff Joe Guy says Travis Odell shot Freddie Hall in the leg during an argument at a party in McMinn County Thursday morning.

"It appears the men were partying overnight and became involved in a dispute, and Mr. Hall was shot with a shotgun," says Guy.

Hall was taken to UT Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Odell was charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest. He remains in McMinn County Jail on $10,500 bond.
