CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

Business groups and cycling advocates met with Dutch representatives Tuesday night to map out biking possibilities for Chattanooga.

But plans discussed were more than standard car vs bike. The underlying foundation for the plans were to have a unified concept of people first, and transportation second.

The areas discussed were Frazier Avenue/Cherokee Boulevard corridor and the St. Elmo area, which is scheduled to tie into the next Tennessee River Park expansion.

Several proposals were presented to those in attendance. One proposal for Frazier Avenue included a green bike lane, bike boxes, and clear crosswalks.

A vision for St. Elmo includes connectivity for all, pedestrian connections to "Bi-Lo Plateau," Riverwalk, Guild Trail, and the Incline.

Another meeting is planned for further discussion.  We'll let you know when that meeting is planned.
