2 killed in Hickman County wreck, USPS truck involved

HICKMAN CO. (WSMV) -

Two people died on a stretch of I-40 in Hickman County on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a USPS mail truck, a semi-truck and a passenger car were all involved.

Sgt. Bill Miller said, the semi was broken down on the shoulder of the westbound lanes, when a passenger car ran underneath it.

Troopers are on the scene, and the Critical Incident Response Team has been notified. The victims have not been identified, and it's still not clear how the mail truck was involved.

According to TDOT, one lane is blocked at this time. Crews expect to clear the wreck by 6 p.m.
