'Wing off' at the market raises money for good cause

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

Over 25 local restaurants participated in the "wing off" Sunday at the Tennessee First Pavilion.

Community members had the opportunity to sample great food - all for a good cause.

The Chattanooga Area Food Bank worked with all the vendors to sell tickets that visitors used to sample a variety of wings.

There was everything from the classics, favorites and some unique twists like zesty lime and peach barbeque.

All the proceeds from the ticket sales will be passed on help feed anyone in the surrounding 19 counties - throughout Tennessee and Georgia in need of food.

"Right now there are thousands of people that are food insecure and don't know where there next meal will come from.  That equates to one in six adults and one out of every four children," says Lori Bell.

If you or anyone you know is in need  - dial 211. They will take your information and make sure you get a voucher that can be used to pick up food at the Chattanooga area food bank
