The USC Gamecocks are up one spot in both the AP Coaches poll and USA Today poll respectively.
The No. 12 Gamecocks hosted Vanderbilt Saturday and won in a back and forth game 35-25.
The win was the 13th straight at home for the Gamecocks (2-1, 1-1 Southeastern Conference), who are tied with Georgia for the second-longest active streak in the nation.
Alabama received all but one of 60 first-place votes from the AP media panel after beating Texas A&M 49-42. The Aggies are 10th. The rest of the top five is Oregon, Clemson, Ohio State and Stanford.
Now, Shaw's the main attraction for the Gamecocks' no-name offense, which built a 28-0 en route to Saturday night's 35-25 victory over Vanderbilt.
Shaw came to South Carolina before the 2010 season as a great run, OK pass quarterback. He's excelled at the Gamecocks' zone-read option attack and that's got the NFL interested.
The Gamecocks travel to Orlando, Fla. next week to face the University of Central Florida.
