Posted: Updated:

A Hendersonville church is doing its part to end world hunger.

New Creation church worked with the community to pack 12,000 meals Saturday, which was 2,000 more than what they planned.

The meals included rice, soybeans and dried vegetables, which will be delivered to crisis burdened areas, and school feeding programs.

Participants say helping others is worth all the hard word.

Today's meal packaging event was held in conjunction with "Stop Hunger Now!" an international hunger relief agency.

The non-profit has served over 100-million meals in 65 countries around the world.
