CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TN (WRCB)- Cumberland County Superintendent Donald Andrews says the county suffered a great loss with all of the victims having ties to their school system.

Friday, students and faculty mourned the loss of their peers and spoke out about the good memories.

"The ones who were really close to them, you can tell they're just heart broken," said Logan Parsons, Cumberland County High School Senior.

The news was broken to hundreds of students in Cumberland County, that some of their classmates would not be returning.

Dominic Davis, a sophomore at CCHS. Steven Presley a Phoenix High School graduate of 2013.

John Lajeunesse a former student of the school system. Danielle Rikki Jacobson, a parent of a young child in the school system.

"Of course everyone is upset, really in shock," said Parsons.

But they're relying on their memories to get them through.

"He was always smiling, Dominic was. He was always laughing. That smile is going to be
missed," said Parsons.

"He came by and saw me every day in the gym. He loved the gym. He was an awesome young man," said Radhika Miller, Teacher.

Parsons tells Channel 3 he felt a sense of camaraderie as every one joined together.

"Just everybody picking each other up for support reminds you of more than just friendship, more like brothers and sisters working together," said Parsons.

There will be a prayer vigil for the victims on Monday, August 16th on the Cumberland County Courthouse lawn from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m.
