Do you know what time it is? It is pumpkin time! Pumpkin chai lattes are so delicious, but can be pricey and unhealthy from coffee shops. Here is an easy, delicious way to make them at home!
AIMEE FORTNEY'S PUMPKIN CHAI LATTE
2 cups very vanilla soy
milk (you could substitute milk or almond milk)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
2 chai tea bags
2 Tablespoons pumpkin purée
Bring vanilla soy milk, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice and chai tea bags to a boil. Add the pumpkin puree and stir well, then simmer for 2-3 mins. Remove and discard the chai tea bags, then pour into two mugs. Top with cinnamon whipped cream.
AIMEE'S CINNAMON WHIPPED CREAM
1 cup heavy cream
3 Tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
To make homemade whipped cream, with a whisk or hand mixer, beat heavy cream. (Always start with a cold bowl and beaters that you have placed in the freezer) Add sugar and cinnamon, then whisk or beat until desired consistency for whipped cream. Set aside to top beverages or keep in your refrigerator in an air-tight container.
