Ooltewah blasts Soddy-Daisy in district opener

Posted: Updated:

SODDY-DAISY, TN (WRCB) -- Ooltewah won all three phases of the game in their district opener with Soddy-Daisy. Offense, defense and special teams were dominated by the Owls on their way to a 58-14 Game of the Week win.

The difference maker in the game, "it was our team speed," said first year Ooltewah Head Coach Mac Bryan.

Ooltewah totaled 51 first half plays to take a 34-8 halftime lead. The Owls extended it's lead to more than 35 late in the third quarter forcing a running clock.

While the Owls defensive front seven deserved our FNF Player of the Game Award it was given to linebacker Jeremiah Jackson, who totaled three sacks.

Jackson said, "it was all about our defensive line, they allow me to do it."

Soddy-Daisy (2-1) has a bye week before they visit Cleveland.

Ooltewah (2-1) will visit Tyner on Friday.
