NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Family members of the man killed after a woman alleged stole a police car and crashed it into a gas station are considering legal action.

Investigators say Misty Shelton jumped into a Fayetteville police cruiser while she was being arrested for shoplifting over the weekend. The car struck an SUV and then a gas station, hurting several people inside the SUV and killing 55-year-old Henry Holt.

Shelton is already facing homicide charges, but Holt's family says the crash has forever changed their lives.

"It's been miserable for my whole family. My kids, the grandkids, they've been asking for papa. My kids have been asking for papa. We don't know what to tell them. Their papa's gone. Their daddy's gone," said crash survivor Monica Holt-Gooding.

Family members say they feel several things were done wrong leading up to the crash, and attorneys for the family are asking for any witnesses to Saturday's crash to come forward.
