A man was behind bars Friday morning, charged with kidnapping a woman and allegedly trying to kill her.
The victim had a fight with her boyfriend, so she accepted a ride home from another man.
Charles Huddleston allegedly picked her up on Dr. D.B. Todd Boulevard near Underwood Street.
The victim asked him to take her to her Jefferson Street home, but instead he sped off in the opposite direction and told the victim, "I'm going to take you where I want to," according to the affidavit.
The victim jumped from the car at the Kroger grocery store on Clarksville Pike.
Huddleston allegedly ran over the victim.
She was able to flee to the Kroger gas station at the store. The suspect allegedly circled the parking lot before fleeing.
The victim was left with bad injuries to her face and arms during the Aug. 24 incident.
Huddleston was arrested early Friday and charged with attempted murder and kidnapping.
He was also charged with DUI third offense on the morning of Aug. 24.
