MILLERSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A man who led officials on a high speed chase Tuesday is now faced with a warrant for raping a 74-year-old woman.

According to the Sumner County Drug Task Force, officials began a pursuit of Jonathan Brown's car on Bethel Road near Millersville when Brown veered off into a yard, hit a tree and plowed into a driveway. Two other people in the car were charged with joy riding and evading police, but officials said Brown escaped by foot in a wooded area. Officials said he appeared hours later at the home of a 74-year-old woman.

"He saw the victim come in the drive-way," said Millersville Police Chief Ronnie Williams. "That's when he went into her garage and sexually assaulted her, tied her up in a chair and stole her car."

"She lived here her whole life," said neighbor Mike Troupe. "It's pitiful. She's a fine woman."

Kentucky State Police said the stolen vehicle was later spotted at a Bowling Green market, leading to charges of receiving stolen property and marijuana possession.

"We put the BOLOs out for the vehicle and within two hours, we had the suspect in custody," said Williams.

Police said Brown will be brought back to Tennessee to face four warrants for aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary and theft of a vehicle.

Police add the victim is still in the hospital, but is expected to be released soon.
