Benefit held for Brentwood firefighter battling cancer

Posted: Updated:

Saturday the Brentwood community held a car wash, a chili cook-off and a silent auction to support Assistant Fire Chief David Windrow.

The 17-year firefighter was diagnosed with late-stage multiple myeloma, a cancer that attacks the bone marrow.

Windrow's medical costs are very expensive, so the community and fellow firefighters have came together to help him fight the disease and the incurring expenses.

Windrow's cancer is incurable but treatable. All of the proceeds from the benefit will go to Windrow.
