Red Bank brick people dedicated at new location

Posted: Updated:

The Red Bank community gathered Friday night to dedicate a piece of history.

The brick people were dedicated outside Red Bank High School Friday evening.

The statues used to hang on the front of the old Red Bank Middle School, which is in the process of being torn down.

The building, built in 1938, was replaced by a new Red Bank Middle which opened this fall.

For one woman, saving the brick people was about honoring her father.

"My dad built the boy and one of his coworkers built the girl. My dad passed away in '99. He would have loved to seen this been moved," says Dolores Bramblett.

Demolition continues on the Dayton Boulevard building.

The Red Bank community will have a chance to weigh in on what to do with the property once it's handed over to the city.
