Elmore County district judge has convicted Wayland Gray of Oklahoma.
is a member of the Muskogee Indian tribe, and earlier this year Mr. Gray
along with a few others walked onto the Poarch Creek Indians casino property in
Muskogee tribal members accuse the Creeks of desecrating what they consider
'scared' burial grounds where the Creeks are expanding their casino.
Judge Glen Goggans found Gray guilty of 'criminal trespassing and disorderly
conduct.' Judge Goggans initially sentenced Gray to 120 days in the county jail
but suspended that sentence and put him on two years probation, ordered Gray to
pay a $350 fine and to stay away from the Creeks' property.
WSFA 12 News has learned Gray plans to appeal.
