NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV-AP) -

The South Nashville All Stars' valiant run at the Little League World Series has come to an end after a 6-5 loss Tuesday evening to Sammamish, WA, in an elimination game.

It was the team's second loss of the double elimination tournament in South Williamsport, PA.

Nashville pitcher Trae McLemore struck out each of the first six batters he faced, but Sammamish went on to score all six of its runs in the top of the third inning.

Ben Pickman had two hits, including a solo home run in the fifth, that rounded out Nashville's scoring.

Lawrence County team continues postseason run

Another local team is continuing its march in pursuit of a championship.

The Lawrence County Babe Ruth All Stars won again Tuesday in that league's World Series tournament in North Dakota.

The team came back in the final inning to win it, and their next game is set for Friday.
