A state investigation into a Middle Tennessee airport director has resulted in theft and forgery charges.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says 42-year-old John Patterson, of Clarksville, allegedly forged daily logs at the Warren County Airport while he worked as the director between 2007 and 2011.

Those logs were altered with Wite-Out, the TBI said, as Patterson allegedly changed the amounts and took the cash for himself.

In all, the airport lost more than $17,000 in the crime, and Patterson faces one count of theft over $10,000 and 18 counts of forgery.

Patterson was booked into the Warren County Jail on Monday and released on $20,000 bond.
