Ky woman dies after jumping from car

FRANKLIN, Ky. (AP) - A Scottsville woman has died after jumping from a moving car and being struck by its rear wheel.

Simpson County Deputy Coroner Patrick Crafton told The Daily News ( ) that 44-year-old Susan Hardin had a panic attack Monday afternoon while riding in Franklin. Franklin Police Chief Todd Holder says the car's rear right wheel hit Hardin at a slow speed and killed her at about 3:42 p.m. EDT Monday.

Hardin was a passenger in a car driven by her son, 20-year-old Dylan Joshua Hardin of Scottsville. Dylan Hardin was taking his mother to work at Toyo Automotive Parts.

Holder says it doesn't appear that Susan Hardin intended to kill herself. Instead, Holder says, it appears she just wanted to get out of the car immediately.
