UPDATE: Missing 8-month-old boy found safe

ACWORTH, GA (WXIA) - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has located a missing 8-month-old Bartow County boy.

Henry County officer Joey Smith said police chased the stolen car and infant on Highway 36, just off Interstate 75.

Police said a motorists on I-75 saw the suspect's car and recognized it from the descriptions from the Amber Alert. The motorist called 911.

Patrol officers tried to pull suspect Samantha Nicole Barrett over, but she fled from officers, at speeds of up to 90 mph.

A Henry County officer was able to deploy stop sticks to deflate the tires on the suspect's car, which slid off of the roadway, where police were able to apprehend Barrett and get the baby.

William Kaidyn Stover was reported abducted late Tuesday night from a home on Commanche Drive in Acworth.

Investigators said they believe 22-year-old Barrett stole a gray 2003 Ford Taurus with the child inside.
