Brentwood Fire Department's Assistant Fire Chief David Windrow has served his community for 17 years.
Recently, Windrow was diagnosed with a late stage multiple myeloma. It's a form of cancer than attacks the bone marrow. The cancer is incurable, but it is treatable.
Unfortunately, treatments for the Windrow are very expensive, ranging from $300 to $1,000 per week. The Brentwood Fire Department is working to help Windrow and his family with his medical expenses by hosting a car wash and a chill cook out.
The department will also hold a benefit for Windrow on August 24th.
