JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WRCB) -- Mark Canha hit a three-run triple in a four-run seventh inning to help Jacksonville complete a five-game sweep of visiting Chattanooga with a 5-1 victory Thursday night.
Angelo Songco's pinch-hit solo home run in the eighth provided the lone tally for the Lookouts, (14-25 in second half, 49-60 overall) who have now lost eleven of their last 16.
Chattanooga finished with just four hits, two of them from Rafael Ynoa.
Derek Dietrich's RBI-single plated Jacksonville's first run in the third off Ross Stripling, then Canha provided some breathing room in the seventh with a bases-clearing triple. He scored two batters later on a double by J.T. Realmuto for a 5-0 lead.
Stripling (5-2) allowed just the one run on four hits in three innings, striking out four and walking two. The Suns scored three runs off Garrett Gold and another off Michael Thomas in their four-run seventh.
Pedro Baez, who was a Southern League all-star last season for Chattanooga as a position player, continued his switch to pitching by striking out the side while walking one in a scoreless eighth.
