KNOXVILLE (News Sentinel) -

Fans will get a sneak peek at Tennessee's football team during an open practice at Neyland Stadium on Aug. 17.

UT associate head coach and defensive line coach Steve Stripling confirmed the date on Friday.

"It'll be a great opportunity for us, just like our spring game, to put our players in a crowd environment," Stripling told high school coaches at the Knoxville Orthopedic Clinic kickoff luncheon at Thompson-Boling Arena. "If you get a chance, come join us."

Tennessee players officially report to camp on Aug. 1. The season opens at home against Austin Peay on Aug. 31.
