(RNN) - With an inner civil war going on within the group, the fate of folk-country duo The Civil Wars remains unclear. Whatever the future holds for two brilliant songwriters with electric musical chemistry (who we really hope patch up their differences), fans have a new album to hang their hopes upon.
You can stream the band's latest - and hopefully not last - album The Civil Wars, on iTunes a week ahead of its release at http://tw.itunes.com/IhT.
Backstreet Boys Nick Carter crowdfunding horror film
Backstreet's back, all right - on Tuesday, the band released their first album in six years, In a World Like This, which they have admitted is more for soccer moms than screaming teens. However, Nick Carter is currently working on a project that isn't so soccer mom-friendly.
Carter recently turned to the crowdfunding site Indiegogo to raise support for a horror movie, Evil Blessings, that he co-wrote and plans to co-produce and star in as well.
Similar to Amanda Palmer and Zach Braff, he's turning to crowdfundng so that he can raise the money while maintaining creative control.
According to Carter's promo video, "Evil Blessings is about three friends who go into the mountains to hunt but soon discover they're the ones being hunted by an ancient family of evil. The film goes back to the root of horror with strong characters you care about facing the most extreme levels of love, loss and fear."
Contributors on Indiegogo will get perks that range from T-shirts and posters to executive producer credit. Donors also could have the opportunity to attend a red carpet event in Los Angeles and even have a small role in the film.
You can watch Carter's full campaign video on Vimeo.
Nelly brings Amanda Berry on stage for tribute
On Saturday, one of the three women who was kidnapped and held hostage in a Cleveland home for more than a decade made her first public appearance at a Nelly concert, as part of RoverFest.
Nelly invited Amanda Berry out on stage after issuing her a shout out, saying "I know it's a long time and I can't even imagine the type of strength and the type of courage it took to keep going."
Berry remained on stage, smiling and dancing with a friend, while Nelly performed his hit song Just a Dream.
Apparently the appearance came as a complete surprise - even to the DJ who invited her.
According to the Associated Press, Shane French, host of radio show Morning Glory and the man behind the festival, issued an invitation to Berry via the radio a couple of days prior saying she "had 10 years of partying to make up for."
Much to his surprise, Berry heard his message and responded by showing up.
"She didn't say why she decided to come, but some of her family members told me they listen to my show every day and had been to RoverFest in the past," French said in the interview with AP.
French went on to say that Berry's friends, family and even members of the crowd became emotional during the performance, but Berry seemed to be having a good time.
The concert came just one day after Berry's abductor, Ariel Castro, pleaded guilty to 937 counts in a deal that will send him to prison for life without parole.

The members of Johnnyswim, an acoustic folk/pop group with Cuban influences, have chosen to partner both in music and love.
The husband/wife duo is comprised of Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano, the daughter of music legend Donna Summer.
Their chemistry, both as performers and partners, is evident. Their voices meld seamlessly with both fiery and sometimes tender harmonies while thoughtful lyrics create compelling storytelling.
Johnnyswim's newest EP, Heart Beats, is out, along with the Heart Beats video.
