(WRCB) - Good Friday! Stop me if you've heard this before. Today will be hot and humid with an isolated storm or two during the afternoon and evening hours. Honestly, I'm trying to find more innovative ways of saying it.
Highs today will reach about 94 in Chattanooga. Dew points are in the low 70s, so we will feel like it is between 93 and 98 degrees with the heat index.
I expect one or two isolated storms to develop, but they will be few and far between today. Beware, though. There is a great deal of moisture at the surface. That means any cells that pop up will likely produce very heavy rain, along with gusty winds and even some small hail.
Saturday will be about the same with highs in the low 90s, lots of humidity, and only a few scattered storms late in the day.
Saturday night into Sunday we will have a number of showers and storms, particularly Sunday afternoon, as a front drapes southward, becoming stationary just north of the area. It will combine with the heat and humidity to produce widespread showers and storms.
