Predators offer tips to stay fit this summer

Posted: Updated:

There's a new way to stay fit this summer thanks to the Nashville Predators, and you don't even have to leave your home.

You can get all your tips online at the hockey club's website.

It contains a step-by-step guide on some basic fitness techniques that will help keep you fit this summer.

David Good is the strength and conditioning coach for the Predators. This summer he's not just keeping the team in shape, he's offering to help Middle Tennesseans as well.

"(Working out is) a bug. Once you get started, you get more motivated to do it more often and often," said Good.

Already online are five videos from the program called "Worth Your Weight in Gold."

Each week, Good records one video from the Predators workout room. The great thing is that the workouts don't involve any equipment.

"We're trying to make things as simple as we can, give people pointers and make it a little easier to get out and be more active," said Good.

So far this summer the program has covered proper pull up technique, pushups and squats. But workout advice is just one piece of the online program.

Good also offers up tips for creating a healthy menu at home.

The program is meant to be interactive, so the Predators are asking the public to tweet about your experience using #PredsFitClub.

If you participate, the winner from each session gets some cool Predators swag and a Preds season ticket.
