An inmate made a daring escape overnight from the Christian County Jail, and authorities from agencies in Kentucky and Tennessee are now searching for him.

Jose Feliciano - also known as Luis Raul Dechoudens Espinal - 20, of Hopkinsville, was arrested Monday after he ran from officers and kicked a police K-9, according to a report in the Kentucky New Era.

He already faced charges of evading police, assault on a service animal and receiving stolen property under $10,000.

The Christian County jailer says Feliciano had been in isolation after a fight with other inmates when officials allowed him to go to an outdoor recreation area about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.

While outside, the man managed to climb up a basketball goal pole, jump to a ledge and escape through a wire fence before jumping off the jail's roof.

No guard was outside, because this is a supposed to be a secure area. Guards were, however, watching on monitors, but Feliciano escaped out of the view of cameras, the jailer said.

Feliciano then removed his jail jumpsuit, ran through nearby woods and is believed to have jumped onto a train out of town.

Officials with the jail said they have reason to believe that he maybe in the Clarksville area.

Feliciano has been known to use other aliases, according to other law enforcement agencies, and Clarksville police said he had previously been booked into the Montgomery County Jail on three different occasions.

Clarksville police say he faces outstanding charges of statutory rape, theft, evading and aggravated burglary.

Feliciano is Hispanic, 5' 8" and 165 pounds. He has a large tattoo located in the front of his neck of a large star with wings coming off both sides of the star.

Anyone with information should contact 911 or their local authorities.
