An Old Hickory softball team's trip to the state championship is in jeopardy.
The Pink Poison, comprised of young girls ages 4 to 6, has been fundraising, hoping to raise enough money to get to Atoka for the Tennessee Dixie Softball Tournament on Friday, July 19.
"It's going to be a short window," said Travis Holland, a parent and one of four coaches for the team.
The Pink Poison held a car wash on Saturday in Donelson in an attempt to make $2,700 they need to cover the cost of travel and food.
Though the team is under a time crunch, parents said the girls deserve the chance to play.
"Sometimes they run to the wrong bases, but we've come a long way this year," said Holland. "We're excited for them and want them to have a really good time."
The team is also holding a car wash on Sunday at the Arby's in the Rivergate area.
