The heat and humidity will combine to kick off a few showers and thunderstorms for tonight and again tomorrow.  A cold front will approach, too.  This time of year, we do not usually see cold fronts get this close.  But this is not a usual year.  The rainfall amounts will be in the range of 1-2 inches.  Amounts will vary with some spots getting less and a few more.  Highs on Thursday will be in the mid 80's and Friday near 87.

This weekend we should have generally dry weather  with only a very small chance for a storm on Sunday in the Smokies.  Highs Saturday will be in the upper 80's with highs on Sunday near 89.

Next week we should see seasonable weather with the chance for rain dropping a bit.  High temperatures will be in the upper 80's to low 90's.  Lows will be near 70.  The average for this time of year is 90 and 70.  Only isolated storms are expected Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tropical Storm Chantal does not appear to have very strong winds.  it expected to become a Tropical Depression as it heads over Cuba and later to south Florida if it can hold together.
